Origin Coffee Roasting (Central Cape Town)– first on the scene in Cape Town to provide the city with top notch, well-blended, well-roasted, artisan coffee; on the pricey side, but will never fail you.

Tribe Coffee Roasters (The Foundry, Woodstock)– set in a small, unassuming building set back from Main Road, Woodstock, Tribe roasts their own smooth, daily drinking, coffee and will deliver directly to your office or home.

Bean There Coffee Roasters (Central Cape Town)– home to yearly coffee competitions, the people behind Bean There are coffee fanatics who travel across Africa to find you the best bean.

Rosetta Roastery (The Woodstock Exchange, Woodstock)– a small and cozy shop is home to strong coffee flavours and great staff who will take time out to offer you the best cup suited to your tastes.

Espresso Lab Microroasters (The Old Biscuit Mill, Woodstock)– hidden in the back of the Biscuit Mill, Espresso Lab is simply scientific about their roasting, delivering you the best well rounded, bold cup of coffee you’ll ever have.

Deluxe at The Yard (East City, Cape Town)– the coolest coffee in Cape Town, Deluxe offers affordable coffee (R12 for anything served there) with reasonably priced beans that will make your workday brighter and better.

Haas Coffee Collective (Bo-Kaap, Cape Town)– design oriented and a lovely café to sit in and sip. Haas also offers their coffee for purchase online.

Caturra Coffee Company (Sea Point) – a Cape Town local staple and meeting point for Sea Pointers with icy coffee freezochinos.

Up and coming Roasters:

The Bootlegger (Sea Point)– busy, morning until night with excellent food and beans you can pick up right there in the café.

Department of Coffee (Khayelitsha)– a trendy coffee shop that roasts its own coffee right outside of Khayalitsha train station.

Loading Bay (Waterkant)– one of the only places in Cape Town to serve Espresso Lab Roasters coffee and the perfect place to have an out of office meeting.

Jason Bakery (Bree Street, Cape Town)– goods baked to perfection before sunrise.  Join Jason and his baked goods for daytime decadence.

The Blend (East City, Cape Town)– open daily for busy worker bees and students, The Blend offers a variety of coffee unlike any other café in Cape Town.

Deluxe Church Street (Central Cape Town)– cool vibes, cool guys, great coffee.

Mischu (Sea Point)– an up-market atmosphere that will keep you at ease after a nice stroll on the Sea Point promenade.

Brew Coffee (Green Point)– a very touristy spot that’s within walking distance of all things Green Point.

Starling and Hero Bicycle Café (The Woodstock Exchange, Woodstock)– you can bring your bicycle to get fixed and get great coffee and food while waiting.

Superette (The Woodstock Exchange, Woodstock) – fantastic breakfast, brunch and lunch, Superette is a hipsters paradise with dependable coffee.

Olympia Cafe and Deli (Kalk Bay) – if you are out by the sea and need a caffeine fix, Olympia Café makes an immense cup of coffee and has incredible food to go along.

Baked Bistro (Bakhoven, Cape Town)– eat their freshly baked bread, gorgeous croissants and drink cups of coffee in the sun at this local and lovable café on the Atlantic Seaboard.

Field Office (Barrack Street, Central Cape Town)– their office is your office, plus great coffee and design elements all around you.

Field Office (The Woodstock Exchange, Woodstock) – serving up Deluxe coffee, free Wifi, and an office space in a quiet atmosphere.

Popular coffee chains:

Vida e Caffe (various locations in South Africa) – you’ll find Vida pretty much everywhere in Cape Town.  They serve a good cup of coffee that’s quick and reliable.

Gogo (various locations in South Africa) – located in and around office blocks, Gogo gives you a decent daily dose of coffee right when you need it.

Motherland Coffee (Central Cape Town and various locations) – on St. Georges mall, great for a quick on the go coffee.

Cape Coffee Beans – an online store where you can order most local roasters’ beans for a fair price and they will deliver to your door.  If you order more than R300 at a time, they offer bonus free delivery! 

Pick n Pay at the Waterfront – a serious collection of coffee roasters from around South Africa.  There’s a dedicated section in the back of the store for all things coffee.
