Autumn hunger

The weather is a-changing and I don’t know about you but I am
feeling awfully hungry.

It’s a yearly scale-tipping thing for me. With the cooler
evenings, softer light and dark mornings comes my voracious appetite.

I get out (the really) big pots and start the
slow-braising of meat in tomato, red wine and garlic. Thick soups brought to
the volcanic bubble fill the house with calming flavours as I start
to squirrel away some comfort food for winter.

It’s a tad confusing at times as one day could be pelting down with
cold rain, perfect for the rib-stickers, but the next is a breeze-less sunny one – on those luminous days, I indulge in all sorts of warm salads, hot spicy
recipes
and a good curry is never far from my thoughts.

I wonder, do you also feel the empty ‘hole’ in your stomachs?

If you do, take a look at our shiny new hubs of belly
warming soups and satisfying roasts. There’s also our delicious pasta page to
keep your tummy full and happy.

And for the sweet tooth in us all, the gooey desserts and chocolate page is unbelievably indulgent, because you deserve it chums.

So get out your woolly socks and the bowls of red wine glasses.

Yours in bacon and roasted garlic,
