Autumn food

The days are getting shorter now.

It’s dark when I coffee myself up in the morning and I have
resurrected fluffy socks and ‘jamas in bed (sorry husband).

It’s not really cold but there’s a lovely cool freshness to
the days now and it’s making me hungry for yummy things. I’m feeling the need
to get out the big pots and squirrel some lovely food away.

The seasons are changing and with it a whole new flurry of
gorgeous produce and new dishes to tuck in to.

Here are some of my Autumn loves:

Soup. Oh the wondrousness of a bowl of comfort. I feel so smiley
and warm after digging into a deep hollow of happiness. And so do you it seems:
we asked our followers on Facebook what their favourite Autumn food was and
soup came up trumps by far.
Indulge in butternut with cumin and
orange
and spicy chicken, tomato and sweetcorn soup.

The sacred avo is back. Thank garlic! Beautiful buttery,
avo-tasting avos that make you eat them dreamily straight out of their skins
with salt and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Try this gorgeous avo,
pomegranate and beetroot salad
or nummy bacon rolls.

An Autumn confuzzle is that mangoes still abound and I love
that about our beautiful home, we can indulge in gorgeous tropical fruit whilst
the cold draws in around us. Try this sticky chicken with mango salsa to get
you going or this fillet with mango and sweet chilli sauce – heavenly.

Roast chicken – I have had one every week for the last month
and I can’t wait for the next Sunday fix. If you need some inspiration try one of these 10
things to do with roast chicken
. Oh just think; crispy, salty skin over juicy
meat ready to be ripped off the bone. Ahhhhhh.

Let’s descend slowly into the cold with warm, full bellies.
