A foodie thought for mom

“Boys just remember,
if mom is happy, then we’re all happy”.

Those are the words of my spectacularly clever other half. He
says it with a wink and a twinkle but it’s the absolute truth isn’t it?

If the heart of the family beats strong and proud, so then will
happiness and love prevail… and much less screechy scariness from mom.

So you know where this is going, right? Yes, it’s Mother’s Day
on Sunday so spoil her rotten and all that, but I’m also appealing to all you
non-mothers out there.

Remember mothers all year round, not just on one lone
day when flowers are triple the price and all you can get are some floppy old
pienk carnations.

All a mom needs is a little extra help sometimes and some
good old-fashioned appreciation. So, Dads, how about doing the shopping once a
week? Or perhaps donning that apron and cooking her favourite dish once in a while?

Sons and daughters, why not ship your ma to the couch with a
mag whilst you cook up a storm of a Sunday lunch, it will be oodles of fun and
your brownie points will shoot sky high.

And colleagues at work, the woman who is preggers and looks
about to burst, she has a real-live human growing inside her body! Offer the
poor woman a hot cup of tea and a biscuit for garlic’s sake.

So start now and keep on going. We’ve got some lovely Wintry
dishes to spoil your mum with this weekend. I’m thinking golden, crispy roasts
with rich gravy and some decadent puddings to go with that. Or you could do a
fabulous braai and keep things relatively simple.

If you’d prefer to go out, take a long look at our delicious
restaurant specials, and book immediately.
