We’ve written about the non-alcoholic ‘alcoholic’ drinks trend before, and the movement has become so mainstream that even a festival called the Mindful Drinking Festival was hosted in Cape Town. Its ambition was to highlight the global mindful drinking movement that aims to make drinking non-alcoholic beverages more socially acceptable. There’s also substantial evidence showing that there’s been a shift, with younger people drinking less alcohol than before.
Many of us tipplers are now turning to alcohol-free beverages to recreate a sense of festivity, the responsible way.
“There is definitely a generational aspect to the change – Millennials certainly don’t drink as much as we did when we were younger,” Rosamund Dean, author of Mindful Drinking: How Cutting Down Can Change Your Life, told The Guardian.
