Your weekend feast – 3 March 2017

The weekend has arrived (and with it) the promise of good food but sadly, the onset of Autumn!

The mornings are already getting darker and soon we’ll be forced to leave these glorious, hot, summer days behind. For now, let’s make the best of what’s left of it and indulge in as much summery goodness as possible.

A vibrant mix of pears, apples, papaya, beetroot, spinach, almonds and more, comes together perfectly in this raw, no-nonsense, summer salad. Enjoy it as is or as a side to your braai or roast.

Two iconic desserts come together to create the perfect duo of milk tart stuffed churros. Treat yourself and loved ones with this OTT South-African-meets-Spanish fusion.

The weekend was made for comfort food! When the chip craving hits, tuck into these sweet potato wedges which will satisfy your craving while you dodge the big carbs. Pair these with your burgers and roasts.

Light up the coals and braai these buttermilk chicken sliders. The result is juicy, tangy chicken, topped with coleslaw on soft buns.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – pizza is good anytime of the day! How about adding this naan pizza to your breakfast table this weekend?

This spicy beef stir fry with sweet peppers and mango will inject some much-needed colour into your weekend. Ready in a flash – this dish is perfect for busy weekends when you don’t have enough time to slave over your stove.

If you’re entertaining, make this halva mousse in crispy phyllo cups for a tea-time dessert. It’s so easy, you’ll kick yourself!
