Your weekend feast: 24 March 2017

Are you ready for the weekend?

At least one thing (the most important) is ticked off your list – what you should be feasting on!

Dig in…

Keep the Autumn chills at bay with these  Mexican-inspired spicy eggs for breakfast.

If you’re looking for a snack, look no further than these no-bake oats and chocolate cookie cups. Besides the fact that they’re ridiculously quick and easy to make, they’re filled with good-for-you ingredients like dark chocolate, goji berries and dried blueberries.

These Cajun spiced pulled pork tacos scream weekend food! Can you think of anything better than tender pulled pork strips, wrapped in a warm  tortilla, topped with a tangy salsa?

For a vegetarian meal of note, try these flatbreads with grilled zucchini dressed in lemon and hemp seed oil. This vibrant dish goes well with making the most of the last bit of Summer before the Autumn weather really kicks in.

Whip up this simple butterkuchen, grilled nectarine, labneh and dukkah dessert by making use of any seasonal nectarines that you might want to use up. It’s ideal for those who favour not-very-sweet desserts and for those who do – just add a drizzle of honey!

If you’re lighting up the braai this weekend, swap your trusty old garlic bread for a batch of soft, packed-with-flavour za’atar rolls.

Sticky beef short ribs are what your Sunday feast dreams are made of. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or stir-fried Asian greens.
