A terrific weekend bite comes in the form of these savoury mince pies. They are super-easy to make and only take 20 minutes.

Weekends are the time to indulge, treat yourself and break the rules. For a killer dessert make this jaw-dropping indulgent peanut butter, caramel and chocolate tart. The tart is not too sweet but rich and has moreish layers of salty, bitter and sweet notes.

In the meat-free sides department we’ve got this roasted sweet potato and beetroot salad that could also suffice as a meal on its own.

This Italian-inspired, sundried tomato and basil pesto chicken is simple, hearty, comfort food at its best – perfect for the weekend and this weather.

Put your butternut to good use and make this baked risotto with butternut, pine nuts and sage for a moreish vegetarian meal. 

On Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day in South Africa and this milk tart Swiss roll will be the perfect sweet treat to accompany your afternoon tea.
