Where to eat seafood in Knysna?

So if you are down in Knysna or Plett this week for The Knysna Oyster Festival you’re probably having your fair share of gorging on juicy oysters, sushi platters, prawns and other awesome seafood dishes. Lucky you…

We asked our Twitter followers and Facebook fans for some recommendations on where to visit should you be warming up for the marathon or just there for the jol.

Off the Hook in Plett got a few mentions for their seafood in General.  Check them out on Twitter with all their specials (hint: 10 prawns, rice and chips for R49.95… every Thursday…)

And The Lookout Deck…. what a view. One of my earliest memories of Plett was their Pint ‘o Prawns….

The Knysna Oyster Company for oysters and nachos (if you’re sick of oysters this is a great option!).

The Oystercatcher in Knysna just does awesome everything. And the vibe there is just so laid-back, rustic and perfect for making an entire afternoon of seafood and wine quaffing.

If you prefer a bit of posh then perhaps Sirocco, in its stunning location on Thesen’s Island, is where you want to be.

One of our readers said the best take away fish and chips would be from Robberg Seafood Safari – in Knysna on the corner of Tide Street & Waterfront Drive. Do you agree?

Someone else said the deep fried hake or calamari strips at East Head Café are worth travelling to Knysna for alone!

34 Degrees South in Knysna has always been a popular destination on the waterfront? Is it still a good place to get seafood?

We’d like to hear from you  – so please let us know in the comments section below.

Bon Appetit!
