The World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced live from London yesterday evening and Cape Town Restaurant, The Test Kitchen, has come in at number 28, a whopping 20 places up from last year. It is also the Number 1 restaurant in Africa. A huge congratulations to Luke Dale-Roberts and his team!
The Test Kitchen came in at number 48 position last year.
Last week, for the first time in the competition’s history, the 51-100 Best Restaurants were announced. Franschhoek restaurant The Tasting Room at Le Quartier Francais was named the 88th best restaurant in the world.
The Test Kitchen was also named the top restaurant in South Africa at last year’s Eat Out Awards.
Chef Luke-Dale Roberts, who also has the very popular Potluck Club restaurant at The Biscuit Mill in Cape Town, has plans to open a third restaurant in Cape Town this year called Naturalis. Welcome news for Capetonians and visitors alike.
