South Africans choose Rooibos tea for its delicious flavour, its medicinal properties and health benefits. A cup of Rooibos tea always seems to come at the right time.

Well we aren’t the only ones who believe in the calming effects of a good cup of Rooibos, in the latest edition of Marvel’s She-Hulk, psychiatrist, Dr. Flo Mayer offers She-Hulk a cup of Rooibos tea to calm her down which no doubt, she needs after a hectic day of saving the world.

This just goes to show how amazing our Rooibos tea is. I always grab a cup when I need to relax and channel my “inner peace”, so it’s exciting to see that international brands have recognised our national treasure for its ability to relieve stress, maintain anxiety levels and to just keep you calm.

Spokesperson of the SA Rooibos Council, Adele du Toit said in a statement, “Global consumption of Rooibos is at around 15 000 tons per annum and the demand for the product continues to grow. It’s fast becoming a popular choice among a variety of herbal teas around the world which is a testament to how increasingly popular Rooibos has become.”
