Set the mood with this Valentine’s menu

Certain ingredients contain aphrodisiac properties – which is perhaps just what you need on Valentine’s Day. So, we’ve put together a three-course menu that will tantalise your tastebuds and woo your loved one.

For starters: Saffron risotto stuffed tomatoes

Healthline lists saffron as one of the ingredients with proven aphrodisiac qualities as it has been shown to enhance mood, although it seems its aphrodisiac benefits are most felt by those taking antidepressants. Either way, a stuffed tomato is a great way to start a meal and, while you may think making risotto is tricky, all it really needs is a strong arm to do the stirring! Read our guide to making the perfect risotto.

For mains: Chicken curry

Curry is always a great dish to serve as part of a meal as you can easily prep or even cook the entire dish the night before. This one features a ton of spices, including fenugreek – a herb that has been linked to the sex hormones oestrogen and testosterone.

For dessert: Milk tart pistachio ice cream sandwiches

Impress your partner with these beautiful treats – and maybe give his or her blood flow a boost as well! If you don’t have time to make sandwiches, you can still reap the benefits of pistachios with a simple yet delicious pistachio ice cream.
