As one of the biggest and most prestigious global olive oil competitions worldwide, the EVOOLEUM competition sets the gold bar standard exceedingly high when it comes to good-quality olive oil.
After blindly tasting nearly 1 000 samples of Extra Virgin Olive Oils (EVOOs) from all over the world, a panel of 26 expert judges from 10 countries named De Rustica Olive Estate Coratina as the top olive oil at the EVOOLEUM Awards ceremony held in Spain on 5 May 2023.
The award-winning offering from De Rustica Olive Estate, one of South Africa’s largest olive oil estates situated just outside the town of Oudtshoorn in the De Rust area, not only won the sought-after ‘Absolute Best Olive Oil’ medal but also took home the ‘Best in Class’ medal at the EVOOLEUM Awards, thereby showing that South African extra virgin olive oil doesn’t mess about when it comes to quality and competing on an international level!
