TV chef and cookbook author, Zola Nene – no stranger to those who enjoy watching the early morning Expresso Show on SABC 3, has just scooped “Best English Cookbook by a Celebrity Chef” in the The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. This means that she (or rather her cookbook) now qualifies for the next ‘Gourmand Best in the World’ competition to be held in China in October. We couldn’t be prouder of this dazzling bright young chef who is down to earth, bubbly and full of passion for her craft.

The cookbook that stole the show was Zola’s Simply Delicious which was launched in February 2016. The book is a celebration of her food philosophy and focuses on various stages of the chef’s life. You can expect drool-icious recipes like her peanut butter millionaire’s shortbread (yes, we have the full recipe!), chocolate Amarula tart, blueberry ripple cheesecake, white chocolate truffles, vetkoek, the most comforting lasagne and more hearty home-style recipes with that special Zola twist! She came out tops against other top chefs from the UK‚ USA‚ Australia‚ Bangladesh‚ India‚ New Zealand and Sweden. You go girl!
