PRIME, the hydration drink that has gone viral worldwide, will be available at Checkers stores for only R39.99 per bottle. The drink has bizarrely taken the world by storm.
Launched in January 2022 by YouTube sensations Logan Paul and KSI, PRIME has fast become a hit among Gen Z customers, with many attributing its popularity to the pair’s audience engagement and their clever use of marketing tactics, using YouTube’s algorithms. Customers have even been lining up overnight to get their hands on some – despite some prices being pushed up as high as R400 or R500 a bottle!
From 1 May 2023, South Africans can find the drink at selected Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores and on Sixty60 in the Western Cape, Gauteng, and KwaZulu-Natal.
According to a media statement from Checkers, PRIME Hydration comes in four flavours: Ice Pop, Blue Raspberry, Lemon Lime, and Tropical Punch. The drink contains 20 calories per 500ml bottle and is made up of 10% coconut water. It contains zero added sugar or caffeine.
