PARTNER CONTENT: Start your morning with the four Cs

Breakfast is the one meal of the day that doesn’t always get the full attention it’s due. You don’t realise its importance until it’s 10am and you’re looking for a snack at work or stopping at the petrol station for something to stop the cravings. Though often overlooked, breakfast is known as the most important meal of the day for a reason.

“We skip breakfast for many reasons – we are running late, we are trying to lose weight and so on; however, breakfast is the one meal that helps us to have a productive day, and also jumpstarts our metabolism,” says Nargis Khan, brand manager for Canderel.

When you eat breakfast in the morning, you are essentially letting your body know that there will be more food to come during the day, allowing your body to burn the calories instead of storing them. Breakfast also lets you “fuel up” after a night of fasting, and allows for enhanced concentration, improved memory, and can also lead to happier moods and lower stress levels. For children, a good breakfast can also improve their mood for the day.

But how do you start incorporating breakfast into your morning routine if you have never done so before? Khan suggests the four Cs to help get you up and running in the morning:

·       Bring a little calm to your morning by preparing ahead. Packed and ready school bags, prepared lunch boxes and a ready-to-wear outfit can give you a few extra minutes in the morning.

·       Not everyone has the time in the morning to go somewhere quiet and meditate for 10 minutes, but finding a little bit of time for yourself at the beginning of the day – even if it’s just to take 10 deep breaths – can give you clarity for the day ahead.

·       Give breakfast the importance it deserves by indulging in Canderel’s new range of recently launched granolas. This healthy breakfast alternative has zero added sugars and comes in three delicious flavours – Original, Four Seeds and Nuts & Seeds. “Our range of Granolas is high in fibre, low in sodium and vegan friendly,” says Khan.

·       When you leave the house, have the confidence to know that whatever the day has in store for you, there is nothing you can’t handle.  The tone of your morning can set the tone for the rest of your day.

The four Cs – calm, clarity, Canderel and confidence – provides the foundation for a good start
