The way to go here is really a cheese platter paired with South African wines, as our wines are great and Dutch cheese is easily available in this country.

For a light meal make a large Dutch pancake and fill it with whatever you have, slice into two and serve with a salad of baby leaves.

On a cold winters day the bruine bonen soep is perfect or if you don’t like soup, make the Dutch meat balls.

For a more formal meal, try the mosselen in witte wijn.

Serve coffee with speculaas cookies for dessert or make a glass of Advocaat.
