Kyoto Garden Sushi summer offerings

Owner of Kyoto Garden Sushi, Scott Wood, recently returned from his annual break in Japan ready for an exciting new season. Inspired by his travels, he has introduced two new elements to the restaurant’s offerings: delectable, delicious, extraordinary sea urchin, and a summer sushi offering paired with rosé wine.

Kyoto Garden Sushi has gained a reputation for serving some of the best sushi in Cape Town, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The restaurant serves an extensive range of exquisite Japanese dishes and boasts the largest collection of Japanese whiskey in the country. Kyoto Garden Sushi has had a memorable 2015, helped enormously by winning Best Asian Restaurant in the Eat Out awards. To top everything off, last week the restaurant was honoured to host the Japanese Ambassador to South Africa who held a private dinner at Kyoto. Let’s hope 2016 brings with it many more exciting successes for this unique dining venue.

Sea Urchin Sushi
Known as uni in Japan, sea urchin sushi is an unusual and sought-after delicacy which is now available in South Africa for the first time ever – and only at Kyoto Garden Sushi. Uni has a smooth, creamy texture and a light, slightly sweet and briny flavour. It is also Scott’s favourite food! Cost: R100.

Summer Sushi at the Bar
Sit up at the bar and enjoy 8 pieces of the best sushi in Cape Town and sip on a glass of rosé wine for R75. This is a great option for date night, or to enjoy with friends. Our sushi is top quality and only the best cuts of tuna and salmon are used. Our wasabi is homemade using our secret recipe and we pickle our ginger ourselves.
