Dutch pancakes

Dutch pancakes (pannekoeken) are bigger larger and thinner than American or Scottish pancakes and are filled with a host of things.

In the Netherlands they’re available at all Pannekoekenhuise.

They’re huge, at least the size of the plate and are filled with just about anything – strawberries,crispy bacon (Spekpannekoek), syrup (Strooppannekoek) made with golden syrup and apples (Appelpannekoek), where the apple and lemon juice is cooked with the pancake,and then ginger (Gemberpannekoek) made with preserved ginger.
