Celebrate World Nutella Day with these must-try recipes

Each year on 5 February, chocolate lovers around the globe celebrate the happy collision of chocolate and hazelnuts, better known as a spread called Nutella.

Founded in 1963, Nutella was born out of a lack of chocolate during World War II in Piedmont, Italy. Ferrero, the creator of Nutella, spotted a solution for the shortage of chocolate by combining hazelnuts, sugar and a bit of cacao – another rare commodity at the time.

Nowadays, Nutella is a favourite ingredient in baking and cooking, so let World Nutella Day be just another excuse to try these decadent and delicious recipes below:

No bake Nutella squares

Take all the fuss out of spending hours in the kitchen by whipping up these easy no-bake squares. The scrumptious bites are the perfect balance of biscuit with the nutty chocolate spread we all love.

Nutella sandwich cookies

It takes only just three ingredients (yes, just three!) to whip up a batch of Nutella sandwich cookies – whether you like to dunk them in milk or have them with a warm cup of tea, these are a must!.
