7 belly warming curries

Oh, how I love a good curry, especially with this uber cold weather we’ve been having.

With that in mind, I’ve put together my top 7 favourite tried and tested curry dishes.

Some I’ve done on my Food24 blog, bits of carey, and others were published in Crush magazine online.

I tend to enjoy mild flavourful curries with just a little bite, and yes, I’m a sucker for the creamy kind… nom nom nom. For hotter variations simply add more curry powder, chillies or replace yellow and green curry paste with red.

1. Homemade butter chicken with coconut rice
Who doesn’t love butter chicken? This recipe is a winner. Enough said.

2. Chicken curry how mom used to make
A good old fashioned chicken curry using basic and minimal ingredients. Comfort in a bowl!

3. Thai yellow curry with chicken, butternut and green beans
This curry is so deliciously mild that it can be enjoyed by the whole family.

4. Lamb and apricot curry bunny chows
Tender lamb curry with the added sweetness and tanginess of the apricots.

5. Fragrant prawn curry
Prawns and crisp veggies cooked in a fragrant coconut milk. A vibrant dish that gets your taste buds working overtime!

6. Quick and easy Thai green curry
This curry takes no more that 20 minutes to cook. Awesome weeknight meal.

7. Wintery veg korma
A scrumptious meatless curry. Think butternut, sweet potatoes, chickpeas and homemade korma paste. Pure goodness!

And there you have it, so get your spice on and start cooking up a curry storm!
