I love carbs almost more than life itself. I kid – but I am really just a bit carb crazy! I know it’s fattening (and a million other reasons why I shouldn’t be as carbsessed as I am). I’d still choose a bowl of creamy pasta over a salad, any day!

As a self-confessed carb-lover, even I have tried cutting down on carbs before and the withdrawal symptoms are all too familiar to me.

Can you relate?

1. You’re so chuffed with yourself for reaching this point and actually considering giving up carbs.

2. And while you’re still on that high, you get knocked right off when you realise that almost everything you love has enormous amounts of carbs in it!

3. Suddenly swapping your pasta for zucchini noodles, thin crust pizza for cauliflower base and taco shells for leafy greens, doesn’t sound appetising. At all.

4. You make peace with the fact that you can’t have toast for breakfast. Say goodbye to pizza, garlic bread, bubbling mac and cheese and potatoes!

5. Just as you’ve made peace – carbs are everywhere, enticing you to give in!

6. When you’re driving pass your favourite burger joint, waffle house, brownie spot…

7. Cravings!

8. The moment you finally give in to temptation and have you first cheat day.

9. The shame and guilt that follows. 

10. The next day you pick yourself up, try again and remind yourself why you’re doing this.

11. You console yourself with the fact that you can still indulge in bacon!
