Last month we ran a competition asking you to enter and take part in a fun, new concept. We asked you to purchase Zespri kiwifruit from any Food Lover’s Market, Spar, Pick n Pay or Checkers and then create your own recipe for a power-boosting juice or shake!
The winners’ recipes were chosen and included on the menu of the Zespri Juice Truck – which will be roaming the Western Cape for the next month. Zespri International, in partnership with Meisies Food Truck, will be launching an exclusive Zespri Juice Truck pop-up.
The juice truck experience kicks off just as South Africans are starting to think about healthy food, fresh juices and getting into shape for summer. Marli and Tracey – the owners of Meisies Kitchen – will be selling delicious smoothies made with Zespri SunGold kiwifruit as the main ingredient.
The smoothies featured on the menu will be a showcase of the top four winners of our ‘Zespri Boost’ competition. Contestants were asked to create a smoothie using Zespri SunGold kiwifruit and submit the recipe with the name of the smoothie and a picture, to potentially earn them a spot as one the top five winners of the competition. The grand winner of the Zespri ‘Boost’ competition was llse van Wamelen with the aptly named Zespri Smart Boost smoothie, which boasted:
– Zespri SunGold kiwifruit
– frozen pineapple
– banana
– spinach leaves
– seed mix.

The aim of the Zespri Juice Truck mobile pop-up experience is to create a unique juice vendor, aimed at creating awareness about the health benefits of Zespri SunGold kiwifruit – a premium gold coloured kiwifruit from New Zealand.
The Zespri Juice Truck can be expected in different locations around the Western Cape during the months of August and September, with the next event being at Root 44 (Audacia Wine Estate) on 6 September 2014.
