Your Weekend Feast: 8 September 2017

It’s that time of the week again where we kick off our shoes and prepare to relax! It’s looking like Spring in most parts of the country while it’s back to the Winter blues in Cape Town.

We’re counting down the days before Spring finally kicks off and our beloved Braai Day on 24 September. Sit back and let the sun kiss your skin this weekend! Enjoy and happy cooking!

For your breakfast needs, how about you try this breakfast cheesecake? It’s perfect for a crowd but takes some advance prep time so please do read the recipe carefully before going full steam ahead.

Vegan chocolate velvet smoothie bowls are here for those who don’t really feel like an English breakfast. It’s quick and healthy. Who could you say no to that?

This sticky chicken with chakalaka and pap is the best for both Spring and Winter dinners. We love the local twist to it, which is fitting seeing as it’s Heritage month.

Dark chocolate and koeksister terrine is a good treat for your weekend. Trust us.

My mouth is watering just thinking about Lemon and ginger cheesecakes! These little dessrets are perfect after a hearty meal. Or anytime really!

No meal is more satisfying than these sausage filled mielie roosterkoek with mustard sauce. Epic braai material, and we hope we’ve convinced you to go to one or host one this weekend.

Parsnip, potato and leek gratin is a filling and tasty side dish for Sunday lunch. Your leftovers will definitely be had on Monday.
