World first for SA winery

Van Loveren have released what is believed to be the first wine made from the 2010 vintage anywhere in the world  – their new Four Cousins Light Natural Sweet Rosé. The Four Cousins range, named after the four Retief cousins who own and operate Van Loveren winery, is one of SA’s most popular brands, well-known for its easy-drinking, wallet-friendly wines.

In another first, Van Loveren are proud to announce that two of their wines will be endorsed by Weigh-less with the Light Natural Sweet Rosé and the Extra Light White both sporting the familiar green and white sticker on the bottles. Although the rosé contains a whopping 35g sugar per litre, the low alcohol of only 9% means it is a better choice than regular sweet wines for people watching their weight and the Extra Light White is an all-round winner with the same alcohol level but only 2g of sugar – less than many regular dry wines (click here for more details on light wines).

The new rosé is on sale now from Ultra Liquors countrywide and retails for approximately R25.The 2010 Four Cousins Extra Light White will be released shortly.
