Whisky reared pigs is the new bacon trend

A small drove of pigs in middle America will be part of an ongoing regimented feeding experiment that has the potential to make pork products taste more like your favourite beverage.

25 pure bread piglets will be raised from infancy at the Templeton Rye Distillery, USA.

Kieth Kirkhoff, the co-founder of the local distillery hopes that feeding them a diet of Templeton’s dry distillery grain incorporated with a healthy common diet for pigs, will influence their future flavours.

With inquiries from celebrity chefs and local restaurants, they have no doubt all of their stock will find its place in the food scene.

Kirkhoff believes that this process could potentially create jobs and benefit his community economically.
