What the Klipdrift Ngqo drink really tastes like

It’s time for another taste test! This time, the team tried Klipdrift’s new brandy-infused cooler called Ngqo. The results were mixed.

Those who loved it…

The drift – a swift kick to the back of your throat – is at first jarring. I mean, the whole idea of a cider mixed with brandy? Shaky warrior. It actually goes in – a few sips later, you will notice things slow down just a smidge. It’s a nice big can so the sippy sippy lasts a while. It’s rugged, bra. I don’t know if I’m trying to pay for that right there, but word is bond – if you had a case and offered me one, we dranking. – Phumlani S Langa

Those who hated it…

Anyone who loves brandy surely needs to enjoy its strong smell. As soon as I popped open a can of Klipdrift Ngqo, it was royally over. I think I might have caught a buzz just from that. The taste gave me more of an illusion of brandy and ginger ale because the overpowering smell was familiar, but it didn’t taste like the two drinks were mixed together. It’s just too sweet and gave me a Friday afternoon headache after a few sips – and THAT isn’t welcome! It’s a no… – Rhodé Marshall

You can buy the Klipdrift Ngqo for R99 for a six-pack (price from makro.co.za).
