The recipe to a lekker braai is simple: fire, food, booze and great music. Which is why we’re bringing back “pap en vleis” – the track that was created by Darren Scott and his Jacaranda 94.2 breakfast team in 2009, which had an impressive 42 000 downloads when it was first released.
The song was a parody to Lady Gaga’s hit, “Poker face” but with a real and raw South African twist. With lyrics like “bring die braaier, bring die bier en maak dit sommer gou”.
We love it and almost a decade later, Food24 is bringing it back to the airwaves. So get ready to tap your foot and swing your tongs while the braaibroodjies are toasting on the grill!
