Weekend menu

Tonight’s setting of the sun marks the welcoming of Rosh Hashana (New Year) in the Jewish faith. On Saturday, Muslims will be sighting the new moon and celebrating Eid on Sunday. Let’s all get in the spirit and make our weekend one of sharing, family and friends.

Friday:

Eating something sweet symbolises the desire for a sweet New Year, so dip some fresh apples in honey and enjoy the evening with your loved ones.

Scoop this delicious chopped liver with a wedge of beautiful kitka.

Keep it sweet with this sticky roast chicken.

Finish off the meal with scrumptious figs drizzled in silky honey.

Saturday:

For breakfast whip up a batch of buttermilk pancakes topped with figs, mango and yoghurt.

This simple and light Asian seared beef salad with bean sprouts and radishes would be perfect for lunch. The veggies can try a colourful lentil and cherry tomato salad.

My Easy Cooking knows how to throw together wonderful ingredients and make a delicious meal, try her risotto with pea and goat’s cheese for dinner.

Sunday:

Eid Mubarak everyone! We have a wonderful selection of delicious dishes that will keep your heart happy and your tummy full.

We can’t have Eid without samoosas and what about some spicy chilli bites?

Dip your homemade roti in a chunky green bean bajie.

For your main meal try a flavorsome mutton breyani or these grilled prawns with chillies and coriander.

End off your weekend with a yummy crème caramel.

Enjoy!!!
