The largest food market in the world, situated South of Paris, covers 230 hectares of space, with 12000 employees, 1200 businesses and 17 restaurants that boast annual profits of 9 billion Euros.

None of the items sold at Rungis market are priced, as buyers are encouraged to negotiate for the price of the items they wish to purchase.

Waste from the market is recycled for energy and powers the market, nearby homes and even the airport.
