In December of 1990 our country was changing. Nelson Mandela was released from prison, the Berlin Wall was being torn down, and the people of Johannesburg were about to set a record for the World’s Largest Pizza. Our friends over at Wheels24 sent us a video reminder of this epic day and we had to share.

The Guinness Book of Records largest circular pizza record has since been taken by Dovilio Nardi of Italy, but for a moment in time, South Africans claimed victory over cheese, sauce and crust!
