We don’t need Summer to let us enjoy one of our
country’s favourite veggies. From pap, corn salad and even popcorn, the right
time to indulge in the glorious mielie is always the present.

However, collecting the kernels off the cobb is always messy and the most of it ends up all over your kitchen and hardly anything is left for your dish.

Kitchen Goddess, Ina Garten has the perfect hack on how to get all the kernels off the cobb without losing a single one.

For cutting the mielies you will need; a clean kitchen towel
and a sharp knife.

Lay out the kitchen towel and cut off one of the ends of the
mielie so it can stand upright.

Proceed to cut the kernels downwards until you
have collected them all in the kitchen towel and pour into you bowl.

As Ina would say “How fabulous is that?”
