Waring at the Mount Nelson

It is quite evident to see that Waring will be shaking things up at afternoon tea with her decadent and creative treats.

She hails from the renowned Silwood kitchen, one of the country’s finest cookery schools. The skills that she acquired there, enable her to prepare delicious new signature masterpieces to add to the already mouth-watering menu.

Her most recent position was pastry lecturer at the SA Chefs Academy before taking up her appointment at the Mount Nelson. She also worked as a Junior Sous Chef at the hotel from 2001 to 2003.

However, being a Pastry Chef is not just about a love for all things sweet, it involves a passion for conceiving menu dishes, moulding and shaping pastry and best of all; unlimited creativity. “When I work with pastry, I come alive. Creativity flows and masterpieces evolve”, comments Waring.

Waring will add some news items and continue to prepare the hotel’s favourites such as the flourless chocolate and almond cake and ‘The Battenburg loaf’ amongst others.
