Tru blood beverage

For all those American fangs – oops sorry, I mean fans that are addicted to the seductively naughty phenomenon that is True Blood, a new drink is on the market.

Now they can suck on the show’s namesake – Tru blood.

In the popular series, vampires live ‘harmoniously’ alongside humans due to the invention of Tru blood – a synthetic drink that allows vampires to survive without feasting on the blood of humans and animals.

A mimic of a mimic
HBO has now ‘de-fictionalised” their vampire product and turned it into a blood-orange carbonated drink. The drink is packaged just like its televised counterpart and according to testers it is not overly sweet, slightly tart and lightly carbonated.

Though the drink might suck your wallet’s dry with the price being $16 (R120) for a four-pack and $5 (R37) per bottle.

With Halloween around the corner it is only appropriate to think of a couple of spooky mixers that we can draw on while partying the evening away. Bloody Mary’s will liven the dead, a Vampire kiss will get your heart pounding and Tombstone shots are likely to bury any annoying neck biters.

Can you think of any ghoulish mixers that will get our blood and brains tingling this Hallows Eve?
