The S.Pellegrino 2012 World’s 50 Best Restaurants were announced at a ceremony in London on Monday night.
Noma Restaurant in Copenhagen, Denmark took top honours for the 3rd year in a row. For judging criteria and need to know check out the official website.
South African entries
Disappointingly no South African restaurants made it into the Top 50 this year with the 2010 awards giving us our highest rankings ever with La Colombe (Constantia) coming in at number 12 and Le Quartier Français (Franschhoek) at number 31.
This year The Tasting Room at Le Quartier came in at 57 and Luke Dale-Roberts’ The Test Kitchen fetching 74th place, as a new entry.
