The ‘it’ place on a Friday and Saturday night but otherwise a lovely spot teaming with fireplaces and leather couches where you can enjoy a draught, a glass of vino and even a cigar or two.

Paputzis
A converted home with a large fireplace encircled by couches and charming wooden tables. And, their food is rather homely too: farm breads and jams, hot chocolate with rum, toasted sarmies, cakes and great daily specials.
It’s been around for almost 40 years and the prawns are still the best, and the cheapest, in town. The courtyard is the most popular place to sit, but there’s an indoor area that’s warmed by a scrumptious fire which, when paired with some of Mama’s homemade peri peri, ensures you’ll be warmed from both inside and out.

The outside area is exquisite, but the indoor area is quite lovely too: they’re situated in an old home that they converted into this beautiful restaurant and gallery. They have 2 free-standing, wood burning ‘Jetmaster-style’ fireplaces on their enclosed patio and 1 fireplace inside which was part of the original home. The food is as homely and as refreshing as the atmosphere.

An elegant Italian country restaurant in Muldersdrift that has received many awards over the past 25 years including Most Romantic Restaurant. I would opt for the main dining area in winter with log fires and candlelit tables; it’s cosy and delectable.
