Pizza was voted No.2 on CNN’S World’s best 50 Foods list and it’s evident why. Pizza lovers around the world will be pleased to hear that a pop-up museum dedicated solely to their much-loved food has arrived.

According the Museum of Pizza their mission is “bringing knowledge and discovery to the next generation of learners, dreamers and after hours snackers.” The museum is set to have larger than life exhibitions which will incorporate both art and pizza to educate visitors on the history and origins of the popular wood-fired flat bread.

The eclectic museum aims to unite all pizza enthusiasts, from those who enjoy an authentic Italian thin-crust Neapolitan to a deep-dish pizza style from Chicago. The museum is set to open in October in New York city, however this may not be their only stop.

According to Google trends one of the most searched pizza’s in SA is the classic Pizza Margherita, which out weighs the search for Hawaiian pizza by far. Not that we want to get into “Does pineapple belong on pizza? Debate” but the reason for the Margherita being more popular is obvious.

Fingers crossed that they bring this museum to South African soil.
