The world’s largest…

This weekend Clinton Warren from Plettenberg Bay made history baking the world’s largest hot cross bun.

This massive undertaking took 17 hours, with five bakers working throughout the night to complete the task. It was baked in nine sections weighing a whopping 408 kg.

Two commissioners of oath measured and recorded the process and gave it their stamp of approval.

Guinness still need to give it their stamp of approval, but so far it’s is definitely a world record,” says Warren.

The Beacon Isle KwikSpar in Plettenberg Bay, will donate all the proceeds from the event and sales to a number of charities in the community.

“On the strength of the fantastic world record, we will continue to collect for charities throughout the week and expect the total to reach R5 000,” said Duncan Brown the owner of Beacon Isle KwikSpar.
