The wait is over… Sweetie Pies are back!

Remember how much you used to love eating Sweetie Pies? Remember peeling back the foil to reveal the perfect, smooth dome of milk chocolate, biting through that delicious shell and licking out the whipped crème centre before starting on the choc-smothered wafer base? Or couldn’t you wait, preferring instead to combine chocolate, mallow and wafer in every bite?

Fond recollections … which were all Sweetie Pie lovers had left after the exclusively South African treat was discontinued a year ago.

But now you no longer have to make do with memories, because SA’s largest independent chocolate manufacturer, Beyers Chocolates, is bringing back “everyone’s soft spot”, the Sweetie Pie.

The new Sweetie Pie

And we’re not talking wannabe imitations.  Beyers Chocolates is bringing back the original Sweetie Pie you know and love (and there’s no fooling a true Sweetie Pie connoisseur’s taste buds). The only difference is a new red foil wrapper, making it even easier to spot on the shelf.

To celebrate the return of this South African classic, Beyers Chocolates is giving consumers the chance to win an entire year’s supply of Sweetie Pies.

Simply visit the Sweetie Pie Official Facebook page  and post a selfie of yourself enjoying the new Beyers Sweetie Pie. The most creative image wins. The competition runs from 1 September to 31 October 2014.

Sweetie Pies go on sale from the end of July for R6.95 each, or indulge with a box of 24.

You’ll find Sweetie Pies in retailers across South Africa, including Makro, Pick n Pay, Spar, Checkers, Food Lover’s Market, OK Foods and 7-Eleven.
