The Suarez Burger

Last week, social media platforms were abuzz with the Suarez biting incident.

After the Italy vs Uruguay game sports24 tweeted a few celeb chefs and restaurants asking how a shoulder should be cooked and served to eat. They asked popular Cape Town burger spot, Hudsons, “What would you put on a Suarez burger?

Hudsons responded saying they would serve a beef burger topped with slow roasted pulled pork (because Suarez bit the Italian players shoulder), basil pesto and Mozzarella (because they are both italian).

So without keeping you in too much suspense, here’s what went into the Hudsons Suarez Burger:

A Hudsons juicy beef burger patty, topped with pulled pork shoulder that has been scored and rubbed with:
– peri peri marinade
– cajun spice
– garlic powder
– cayenne pepper

and then braised in a wood-fired pizza oven overnight at 350°C and cooled down to 100°C by morning.

The Suarez Burger was served with a side of sweet potato fries.

We reckon a Craft Beer would also compliment it quite nicely?
