The Royal what?

The mid-year slump is upon us.

It’s July… July ! What the garlic is going on? Its bitterly cold in iKipi and it’s making me a little bonkers.

As it turns out, it’s not just me.

Gordon Ramsay and Nataniël have collaborated in a hilarious campaign – just watch these behind the scenes – and not 1 but 2 people were kicked off MasterChef SA last night. Shut the front door, it’s too much.

But then again…

The entire World has gone insane over the royal bundle. I mean, we all waited in vain for little ‘George’ to come out – queue all the George Michael jokes – and then stared at a door for about a day, just waiting for Wills, Kate and the nipper to appear. The tweets have been very entertaining.

And all that hair and that cute little dress, Kate is just er… perfect? The queen must be klapping those G & T’s like it’s Sunday in the country, I mean, it’s a boy! King George for bacon’s sake.

So the boy – queue all the Boy George jokes – is now born and named. What ever shall we do now?

Have a cocktail for starters and then read this side-splitting column from our wine Ed, Cathy Marston. 10 wines for 10 occasions. Hilarious!

Then I think it’s time to spend some time in the kitchen, that’s what I do whenever things go a little awry. I’m thinking a lovely fragrant curry or a decadent roast. Yes, that will warm me up. Or perhaps a golden puffed pie or a creamy pasta. Ho hum, perhaps I’ll do it all.

Not forgetting of course about a pile of sweet things to share and savour at the end of my deliciously unbridled food gala.

I suggest you do the same, you’re worth it.

Love, food and fresh heir,
