The Queen always saves room for something sweet – here’s what we’d serve if she came for tea

Former chefs and service personnel of the Queen have often shared juicy information about Her Majesty’s food preferences. Chef Darren McGrady even wrote an entire book called Eating Royally which divulges some royal eating habits.

Gourmandize reports that despite Queen Elizabeth II’s fondness of lighter fare, she always makes sure she has dessert (our kinda gal!) and if you’re wondering what her go-to is… it’s chocolate biscuit cake – yes, that would be biscuits in a cake! Genius right?

If we had her over for tea (high tea, obvs) – we would shower her with plates of our favourite tweet treats like…

Peppermint Crisp tart

Lemon Meringue custard slices

Buttermilk scones

Vintage vanilla cupcakes

Crunchies
