Cape Town is also celebrated as the foodie capital of South Africa. The city is overrun with incredible food establishments. But what is seldom celebrated is the other side of the Cape’s cuisine. We’re talking about the foods you won’t find on Bree Street, but are no less delicious or homegrown.
Jive decided it wasn’t just about time these foods were celebrated, but also time to find out which best pairs with their different flavours.
They started by asking their social media followers to let them know their favourites. But then stepped things up a notch by inviting renowned Cape Malay chef, Cass Abrahams and sommelier extraordinaire Luvo Ntezo to do a tasting and pairing unlike anything done before.
