SA wine farms are abuzz: Scenes from the 2019 harvest

The busiest time of the year for winemakers takes place during a short window period known as the ‘harvest’. It’s arguably one of the most important steps in the making of any wine, with its duration in South Africa taking place during some of the hottest months – late January to March or sometimes April.

Those working on wine farms put in close to 20-hour days trying to get the ripened grapes off the vines and into the cellar but of course, there’s always time for a sneaky Instagram post!
