Rossouw’s Restaurant Guide recommends 3 Durban restaurants

If you’d like to broaden your repertoire of restaurants, we can help. We sent Rossouw’s by Diners Club around KZN to uncover a few hidden delights and well-known gems that might be just up your street. Read on to see what the experts have to say and why you should give them a try.

Spiga – Morningside

For the feel of Durban by day and night in all its variety, you need go no further. The menu sticks to pasta and pizza staples and the flavours are sound, while the prices are positively retro, making the value very good indeed.

200 Florida Road

China Plate – Durban

This is possibly the best Chinese in town. The setting is nothing to write home about (so not for business) but the food sure is – led by their signature crispy garlic langoustines. Bring your own wine, however, if you’re a wine lover, as the list is very limited.

Park Boulevard Centre, Brown’s Drift Road
031 564 6437

Little Havana – Umhlanga Rocks

For business or pleasure, this is possibly the region’s best steakhouse. It’s also one of the most elegant restaurants anywhere in the country, so forget about those old-school steak places. Here, quality is paramount, from the wines to the steaks to the service.

Granada Square, Chartwell Drive
