October Vinatics

Hello Quaffers,

And welcome to October’s Vinatics – the Sabraging one! I am having so much fun trying to improve my sabraging skills (my husband can do it with a teaspoon – soooo annoying) and – of course – drinking the contents when I’ve either failed or succeeded. So I was delighted when Laborie sent over some of their delicious and incredibly good-value MCC for this month’s Vinatics dinner – yet another chance to practice!

As you will see from the Vinatics blog – it actually all worked out very well indeed with not one, or two but THREE bottles losing their corks and necks in a dramatic and sensational fashion. You can check out the least dramatic video which was of me but we also have footage of both Caro and Maz doing it as well so will do our best to ferret that out and show you.

The dinner was – as always when Chef Caro is behind the pans – delicious and the Laborie wines were beautiful and went down far too well with all concerned! I know there isn’t much time left this month to have a go at winning some of them yourselves but I strongly urge you to do so if at all possible – they are fantastic and just what you need to enjoy this summer.

So here is the link to the recipes and the wines. Go and buy a bottle or two, choose a recipe or two, invite a friend or four round for a meal then cook, drink, eat, take pictures, sabrage if you choose (take a video if you do please!)  and then email us the results. Case of wine goes to the best entry – and believe me, you want to win that case!!

Happy drinking and if you do try sabraging – please follow my tips to make sure you do it safely. It’s great fun, but needs to be treated with respect as well!

Cheers,
