Nosh in the nude

Is wearing clothes becoming passé? According to many forward thinkers, buying clothes is becoming inherently unnecessary and is in fact quite damaging to the environment.

If we are going to save the planet one pair of knickers at a time, should we not be cutting back on nonessential consumption?

Could we make less of a personal environmental impact by leaving our clothes off
if we are getting dressed purely for the sake of fashion or modesty?

“What next?” you may think. Well ask a group of New Yorkers who have in fact formed a club known as the Optional Clothing Diners Club.

No hot soup, please

The group’s motto is “no hot soup” and they regularly dine out on healthy meals in the city sans clothes. The group boasts a membership of 50 and they rent city eateries for dinner parties with a strict dress code. No jacket allowed is “so last century”, now we’re “well, no clothes allowed”.

“We’re just more comfortable nude,” said John Ordover, a member of OCDC, who works as a web marketer when he has his clothes on. “We’re not out to shock or put on a public spectacle. We’ve never had a restaurant say no to us, and the waiters think nothing of it.”

According to Ordover if you work in a restaurant in New York City, the chances are you’ve seen a lot more shocking things than a room full of naked diners

Top foodie nudie tips:

• Cook dinner wearing only an apron, Jamie does it all the time.
• Turn it into a fun dining event. Bangers and mash and maybe some strip poker.
• Do naked sushi ala Sex and the City.
• Host naked cookery classes at your house, but mind you keep an eye on the cucumbers.
