McDonald’s introduces their new mascot

So, the day finally arrived for the great Ronald McDonald to retire and out of his scary shadow stepped the new merry mascot ‘Happy’.

According to the fast food group of red and yellow, the character, which was first introduced in France back in 2009 and now unveiled in the States, is supposed to bring ‘fun and excitement’ to kids’ meals whilst be an ambassador for balanced and wholesome eating. (Of course)

But that smile maybe stretches a tooth too far, evoking major reaction on Twitter and memes for days. ‘Happy’ is so happy he seems to be overcompensating to make up for all the damage Ronald has done.

“Do you eat it? Or does it eat you?” asks one Twitter user, while another says he’s going to “have nightmares” about it.

As for Happy’s reign, we will have to wait and see, but given the current commentary, we don’t think McDonald’s is too happy.
