MasterChef SA: Goodbye Khumo

19 year old Khumo was sent home to leave 9 contestants left in the MasterChef SA kitchen.

Quirky superchef Andrea Burgener, owner and chef from The Leopard
in Joburg, was the task master on this episode. Her restaurant is
famous for eclectic out-of-the-box dishes with a playful edge.

The challenge: Create a dish worthy of The Leopard.
Time: 1 hour

Tiron was the only plate that really shone – Feta and walnut tortellini with a spicy Asian-style broth and pea shoots. It looked gorgeous and the judges and Andrea were impressed – they all loved it.
Tiron had put his heart and soul on the plate and it all came through in his dish. Well done Tiron!

‘I’m sad to be going home but I’m excited to start the next chapter of my journey,’ Khumo said bravely. ‘I think being yourself and cooking from your heart is the most important thing’. Well done Khumo, you made it to the top 10 and you’ve got your whole life ahead of you.

Charly’s Bakery

The winning Blue Team enjoyed a fun outing to Charly’s Bakery in Cape Town. They piped their dream of being SA’s new MasterChef onto their cupcakes and just had some fun.

MasterChef South Africa Season 2 is broadcast on
Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 19:30 on M-Net Channel 101.
