MasterChef episode 2 continued the journey for contestants across South Africa for a treasured spot in the MasterChef boot camp.
With only 50 people pushing through, emotions were raging and there was crying, lots and lots of crying.
On twitter (#MCSA), fans and skeptics came together to ‘feel the heat’ of the kitchen with a live conversation about the contestants and the show.
Hopefuls like Tiron, whose hanger steak sauced with tears impressed the judges, Tumi, a SARS agent (yes that’s right, you’d think he’d keep that a secret) and the most adorable ‘Monkey’ who, at 20, was bouncing around the kitchen with irrefutable charm and dreams to become cooking royalty.
We’re hooked on Season 2 so far and anticipate that these amateurs will prove that South Africa’s foodie culture is second to none.
